I joined Doostang and received a free resume critique from GetInterviews.com.
They tore part of my resume up, so I was thinking about maybe giving them a shot at writing it. Has anyone had any experience with them? They cost $395 for a Resume + Cover Letter w/ a gurantee of a interview within 30 days. A lot of money, so I want to hear peoples experiences first.
I will post my current resume on here later tonight to see what you all think. I am on the look out for a new job in LA if that matters.

$400 sounds like a rip off, it pretty much is, BUT assuming you were to actually get a FO job out of it, you make that cost up by midday Tuesday on your first week.

Why don't you just post your resume here for a review? If you want a more formal service, I think Mergers and Inquisitions does resume cleanups that are far cheaper and have gotten good reviews around here.
seriously? if you can't write your own resume and cover letter you're probably not going to do well in an interview or deserve the job... post your resume here and have people critique it.

I'd just post it in the resume section here for free (use Razume to blind it), or use the actual service Patrick mentioned.
When I joined Doostang, I got a free resume review, and none of their critiques were relevant to the investment banking world. They told me the biggest mistake was that I was missing an Objective section (which you shouldn't have, fyi)! That wasn't the only poor advice in the critique, either.

They guarantee A interview... not what kind of interview, right? And how exactly would they monitor that? You could just as easily come back to them in 30 days and say you got zilch.
To the person that said M&I does it... I'm not sure if Brian offers it anymore. But he did provide free templates for people to follow that is really helpful.

The problem with these services is that they don't get investment banking/trading/PE/HF resumes. The industries that are relevant to this board have different standards and expectations, and unless the service has people with direct experience in the targeted industry, their advice won't be particularly relevant.
People would be better off just using the services offered here as at least you can be certain that the advice is coming from a position of authority and from not someone that thinks a stockbroker's resume is the same as one for private equity.
