Duff & Phelps: Stepping Stone?

Hey guys,

I am wondering what the consensus is on Duff & Phelps valuation services. I'm a Big 4 auditor and I'm on a Big 4 > Something Better > MBA > Consulting route. I'm looking into internal TAS or valuations firms to improve modeling skills and to improve my MBA application.

Would Duff & Phelps be a good target to accomplish either of those goals?

I knew a guy who started out in D&P Valuation and then moved to a fairly respectable MM bank as an analyst. He was also a very high performer there and did some good networking. That being said, I agree with the above poster that Big 4 audit -> Big 4 TAS/Advisory -> MBA -> Consulting is a preferred route.

Currently: future neurologist, current psychotherapist Previously: investor relations (top consulting firm), M&A consulting (Big 4), M&A banking (MM)

A good friend of mine started out in D&P valuation and moved to a BB as an associate for IB within, I believe, 3 years. I spoke to someone who works there now, but started after my friend left, and supposedly every time his name is mentioned people bring up how much he "absolutely killed it" while at D&P. So, from what I gathered, if you can get into there and work your ass off, you'll do well.
