Ending an interview when you are the one being interviewed?
Honestly, I had interviews that were so lacking in structure that if I did not say “thank you very much for your time. Have a good one,” the interviewer and I would be staring at each other in silence. But the downside to this is I may come across as being uninterested if I end the interview.
Keep in mind that before I ended those conversations, I have already exhausted my list of questions.
How do you traditionally navigate situations like this where you have asked everything you want to ask and that if you did not collegially end the conversation with the interviewer, you and the interviewer would be staring at each other in silence? What would you usually say?
