Equity Research Summer Associate

Saw this position open up on my school's career center site today.

It's for a bulge bracket and it looks reallllllllllly nice.

But the thing is, my resume isn't very good. If you've read my other topics, I've shown an upward trend, but it's still lackluster.

Any idea how I would go about networking with a bulge bracket to obtain this position? I'm going to apply once all my grades are back.

It has to do with real estate, and I took a real estate finance course this semester and I really liked it. So this position would be perfect for me.

I know that just simply applying won't get me anything. Should I apply, wait 2 days, call them up, and ask about the position? Or should I start calling up people in the equity research department now and ask for informational interviews before applying?
