Equity Trade Support Analysts - Need advice

Hi everyone,

I have an interview at a BB investment firm for an Equity Trade Support Analyst role. My background as a Financial Analyst involves mostly finance/accounting related functions (reporting, investor relations, etc). The role I'm pursuing will mainly involve supporting the trading desk--reconciling positions, processing trades, investigating and resolving breaks (what are breaks?). Also involved are P&L functions in processing equities which I should be comfortable with since I have a lot of background with P&L statements.

I was hoping to get some advice on how to get a leg up in some of the functions I would be doing in equity support. Perhaps get some direction to get more info on the everyday functions involved so that I would be able to talk to it and relate it to my background and experience.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys.
