ER/Corp banking to eventually get into IB
I currently work FP&A in a specific industry. Background is engineering in that industry. I am a few years out of undergrad and can’t go the MBA route for personal reasons. My long term goal is IB coverage of my industry. Obviously a tough hiring market but I have an interview ER at a BB covering the industry and a corporate banking CIB group covering a broader sector, with some exposure to the industry.
What gives me a better chance to eventually lateral into an IB coverage group of the industry, the ER role or corp banking?
