ever possible to get a 2nd SHOT at BB?

School recruiter came back to interview and made it to superday but was dinged at a particular group within a BB. I've just recently struck up a conversation with an alum who's an MD/ED at the same BB but a different group. Is it possible that he could get me another interview with the same firm, but of course a different group?

Also, how much pull does an MD from a totally different office have for you? For example, how about an MD from London who probably doesn't have much connection with the US office. Can he do anything for me here in NY?

He can shoot them an e-mail or call them and all they have to do is consider it. From a different office, I doubt he would have any pull unless if he was close with people who have pull in the US office.

I've had US connections get me Asia interviews. I've had Japan connections get me Asia ex-Japan interviews. I've had Asia connections try (but fail) to get me US interviews. I think it can vary greatly based on how much pull the person has and how much effort he is willing to exert.
