Not at EVR, but technical interviews vary a lot and difficulty isn't really consistent across a bank because it's so interviewer dependent. the interviewers are given nearly complete discretion to ask either very easy or hard questions. Sometimes you'll get a nice A2A who was recently in your shoes and helps you along with every question, or you might get some bitter director who wants to have a dick measuring contest over math equations.

just something to keep in mind as people will probably chime in from both easy and hard sides - prepare as much as you can and that's all you can do

That makes sense to me. You're right, it really does depend on who you get and hopefully they're having a good day haha. I've been studying the technicals and I have someone who can give me a referral, but I don't have IB Analyst experience. I've been out of school for about 4 years with experience in private banking and tech sales, so based on my contact there this would be a lateral move into a year 2 analyst position (even though I'm more than happy to be a year 1). I’ll do my best when the time comes but if I don't get it I want to be prepared the next time I interview there (if they give me the chance). I also know it's a top tier firm and very competitive and I do not come from a target school. The individual who I spoke with didn't seem to mind since I did well in school, but I always hear that coming from a non-target makes it more difficult. Cheers.
