Exec position at pro-marijuana college group?

Hey guys so I'm a freshman in college right now and I have the opportunity to hold an exec position at one of the pro marijuana clubs (think NORML etc…). I was wondering if anyone could provide insight on whether or not banks will look poorly on this?

Thanks

Don't think about who would look poorly on this, think about who would look favorably on this. Whether it's legal or not is beside the point. They call it "Dope" for a reason.

Anything can look good if you qualify it properly. I.e., "Campaigned for modernization of controlled substance law" sounds a lot better than "discussed ways to legalize marijuana".

I don't think our group is very vigilant about legalization per se. We take more of a neutral stance in that we focus on providing facts and educating others about the risks and benefits so that they can make their own decisions. In light of this, what if I take on a more 'neutral' role such as being the treasurer?

I still think this won't really help you, only could hurt if someone is super anti weed. During college really focus on effort in, effort out (i.e. do things that will be worth your time). That spin sounds better, but the cause is still political and I wouldn't list it.

You also need to be careful that they can't find this from a simple google search. If the group has a website listing officers by name, a simple search of "Your Name" + "Your Universities name" could bring this out. I know this can happen because if you search my name and my university's name something that some employers may not like comes up, and luckily the only one that I know that did search me like that found it amusing instead of offensive.
