Exit From or Into Metals and Mining
Hi everyone, I have recently been considering a career change more and more. Any guidance would be great.
I am currently a first year analyst at a middle market investment bank. That bank is relatively generalist, but does focus a bit more on commodity driven industries. I have worked on several deals in different sectors, but I have become fairly interested in metals and mining. I can point to several transactions I have worked on this space.
My question is what are my options to exit into a position focused on metals and mining? I do not have any concerns about leaving investment banking and have been strongly considering junior corporate roles at the large mining players. Is this realistic for me to do? I am based in New York and many of these positions seem to be in the UK or elsewhere. How willing would these companies be to bring me out there? Will they even consider me as opposed to a local candidate?
I am becoming very focused on exiting could really use some advice on this.
Bump. Please, any info or opinions would be a help. Thanks.
