Feeling Completely Hopeless

Hi,

Background:

Spent two years in FI research, got the boot after my MD left and there were leadership changes. Always wanted to transition into S&T, was out of job market from July-Nov, started my dream job on Nov 1st, got made redundant on Weds after 6 weeks in my job. I am so so low, I was loving my new job, got along well with my boss, unlike old job this wasn't a firing but budget cut I believe. My resume will now read 2 years in research, 6 weeks in S&T, am I completely fucked? Its just b4 xmas too which makes it so much worse. Honestly never felt so low in my entire life, feel like giving up on life & feel v v alone. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

You seem to hold VERY high standards for yourself, which can be a blessing and a curse. The job market is kinda shit rn so it’s not your fault! This is an opportunity to relax and try to find out what you actually want to do with your life.

First we should make sure we are financially steady. Do you have a good amount of cash to get you through a couple months? If not then we’ll just have to pick up something in the meantime before your next serious gig.
