does anyone know of any firms in Korea that are more "foreigner" friendly... i.e. more weight on native english skills??

moreover, looking to find any finance related job in Korea could someone point me in the right direction???

as rachmaninoff3rd said, you really need connections to land a spot in Korea. Otherwise you better be from a big name ivy league school with a stellar resume because Korea won't even take a glance at you if you're not absolutely perfect. I'm not trying to discourage you but the corporate culture and structure in Korea is very different than in the US (obviously) and it relies heavily on connections of who you know and how much power the have.

I personally can't name any foreigner friendly firms, but if you're with a company that has an office in Korea I would say that probably your best bet. Otherwise I think this is on the side of obvious, but look for non-Korea based firms that list openings in Korea (as in your interview process will be conducted here, not there). Good luck!

What are the chances for a non korean speaking banker to work in korea, seoul?

Very low actually if you think about it - why would a Korean bank need a junior analyst who can't talk to their clients and function in a Korean world? You might be able to transfer from within your bank to go to Korea, but actually finding a new position in a foreign country (non-English speaking) without any significant reason to live there is not easy, especially since you're not special and don't offer anything that a Korean national might be able to do.

If you have lots of experience its a different matter..

Ha, thats fine... well if you are Korean then that's step one... Business fluency in Korean and good enough English. I don't have much to offer beyond that... sorry. Spoke to a girl who went through the Korean process and she made it sound pretty similar to the US. You can apply online or get interviews through relationships. I would definitely try to reach out to any Korean alumni in banking there in Seoul. I am going to assume relatively few people here have experience recruiting for entry-level positions in Seoul.

I'm also interested in this. say you have around 3 years in experience in commercial banking (credit analyst) in nyc, would it be possible to get a commercial banking job in korea with this?
