Finding Summer Internships Starting In July

I'm a rising junior and I'm going to be in Australia for a study abroad this summer. Since school starts in early March there I would not be able to come back to the United States until late June.

Since I do not have any formal finance experience beforehand I was wondering if there where any firms big or small that I could apply for that would have a July start date. I'm looking into the more Corporate Finance side of things so I don't need a big IB.

I spoke with the career services counselor back at my school and they said to apply for smaller bank branches or private wealth management firms. Is this the best option? If so, how would I go about to contacting these firms as most of the ones in my local area do not have a dedicated career page. Should I cold email them or visit them personally?
