First IB interview!

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to share how I got an interview yesterday for a SA position. I come from non target school and dont have an amazing GPA, hence I was not getting any luck applying online or through career services.

I started getting frustrated so I called up a local boutique investment banking firm and asked who was in charge of recruiting. I got the name and simply showed up at the firm and asked if it was possible to meet with him. Emphasizing the fact that there was no rush and I could come back if he was busy. The secretary said it was no problem. She said he was fairly busy but would be able to see me if I could wait. So she put me in conference room and I waited for 15 mins. He showed up, I asked him to make sure he was not busy and apologized for showing up unannounced. I then proceeded to present myself with my elevator pitch and well he said he had some time and interviewed me on the spot! It went pretty well, I will follow up in a few days!
