Following Up on Networking

Hey all,

Had some pretty good networking go on recently within a global bank. I spoke with like 10 people in the company for a few different openings, everyone was extremely nice, and honestly a bit surprising how easy it was to connect with bankers in a company this size especially given I've had a hard time moving jobs over the past year.

That being said: I spoke with the director, vp, and associate in the coverage group that I am dying to join and I think the conversations went very well. The analyst opening was posted about a month-1.5 months ago and my last conversation was with the director 20 days ago. Not trying to sound like some sort of freak but really juggling with following up now or waiting to hear when interviews start. I know the market is hot and don't want to lose the traction I made in those meetings.

Any advice on when/how to follow up would be greatly appreciated.

Apply and then send an email saying something like “Hey hope you’re well. Just wanted to reach out and say thank you for all your time and help. I just sent my application in for XXXX. I am very excited and couldn’t have been here without your help”

Or something like that. The point is to let them know your app got sent in so they can flag it

Yea that's the thing that is throwing me off - I already did that following the last meeting with a member of the group. I emailed the Monday after the week of meeting everyone and said my app was in there, thank you for your time, loved meeting everyone etc. and the VP emailed back saying " great! wonderful to speak, talk soon!" and that was 20 days ago. I am unfortunately in a job situation/head space that is presenting an extreme sense of urgency so I may just send an email next Monday or something idk man... but thank you for the response
