Foreigner in NYC

So I'm graduating with my master's in mathematical finance soon and I was wondering, if I were to say I wanted a salary of $50,000 a year so long as my work visa got sponsored would any NYC finance firm sponsor? Or is it simply impossible to get a job in the USA if I haven't studied there? I ask because I applied for some analyst roles which pay 80-90k and said I want 60k and I'm wondering if I'll even be considered because I need a visa. Thanks.

Do you happen to know of any or a list I could find? I've found nothing online. I'm looking to get paid less than I should just for the sake of better experience and being in NYC.

Appreciate the candid response. Unfortunately I find that most of my applications are rejected within 1-24 hours (yes, that quick) for most US firms. I've relevant work experience, master's degree and am looking for low salary so I'm not sure what else apart from visa is preventing me being considered.

God bless you sir. I'll peruse this link and go nuts this weekend. Ordering pizza, pulling up the Netflix and busting out cover letters all night. I'll be burning that midnight oil baby.
