Freshman Internships: Where to Start?

Hey all, I'm currently a freshman at a target (supertarget? idk) school and I'm looking to do some sort of biotech or healthcare IB internship this upcoming summer. After some prelim research, I've found that almost all the BB offer no freshman internships, and I'm not sure where to begin for biotechs. How can I start contacting boutiques? Would cold-emailing even get me any responses? Lastly, I'm just trying to use this summer to explore/learn so whether it's IB HF PE Biotech I'm not too concerned about prestige just trying to get my feet wet. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks guys!

If you are in the undergraduate finance or biotech clubs at your school, speak with upperclassmen about what internships they did as freshmen. Their advice will be most relevant to the opportunities available to you. Generally freshman internships are not structured programs. You can network your way into plenty of smaller banks, startups, and other finance internships.
