Freshman Summer Advice

Hi, I am a rising sophomore at Boston College majoring in Finance and Business Analytics with an intended minor in Computer Science.

I applied to numerous summer internships across Handshake, LinkedIn, and Indeed, but I either get rejected or received no response. My family doesn't have many connections in the financial industry and don't know people who can hand me internships so I was left mostly on my own. I am starting to give up on the search process and beginning to focus more on refining my own skills this summer. I have been writing research on Seeking Alpha for almost 2 years and plan to continue doing so this summer.

Was wondering if anyone knew what the best online courses are for learning all the basic modeling and valuation techniques you need to know and if there are any valuable certificates I can earn to add to my resume. Also, how should I begin preparing for the IB internship process? Any advice on this or summer 2023 internships would be appreciated.
