FT Recruiting - Hirevues

Hi everyone,

I have applied for several full-time analyst programs for 2024 in London at top BB / AM firms. I have several relevant internships, a master's degree in finance and a high GPA + referrals (only on analyst/associate level) for most firms I am applying to.

Just wanted to check the following how important hirevues are? What is their weight overall? In my opinion I think all the ones I did went well, however, I am ill this month, therefore, my facial expression may not have been a radiant smile and perhaps I could have been slowed down.

If anyone has any clarity on how hirevues are graded (AI or Recruiter) and whether everyone gets one (specifically for JPM/MS) that would be super helpful! I have checked the forum but did not manage to find that much info on the subject.

Thanks a lot !

Thanks, that is very helpful. Do you by any chance know if referrals at the analyst/associate level could make a difference / be of help for off-cycle recruiting?

There's nothing I hate more than HVs. Often very weird questions that aren't even remotely related to the job, short time to prepare and no way to ask clarifying questions or read the room based on the interviewer. Thankfully my HV for GS ended up going well but back when I was recruiting I legit skipped some of the lower-tier BBs simply because their HVs pissed me off.

is it confirmed that GS/MS don't have HV this year for London, i know they both did for NYC
