FT Recruiting Networking Question

Hi,

I'm an incoming IB SA looking to recruit FT for better banks. I was told by several contacts at the banks that I'm looking at that they'd connect me with the staffer at the middle of the summer. Question: is knowing one staffer more helpful than, let's say, 3-4 A1/A2s?
