Full time IBD offer without any exposure

So my internship background is mostly in Equity Research, Sales, and PE in Korea.

In my most recent internship, the job went well and the people wanted me as a junior after some IBD experience or consulting experience. So he recommend me to a vacant IBD analyst position from his previous work in first tier bank (think JP, GS, Citi) and somehow I passed the interview without any exposure in IBD.

My question is

1) What type of work is actually conducted in IBD? Would I have trouble adjusting with my previous experience or is the work completely different?

2) Any recommendation before starting work so I am at least better than most summer analyst?

Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you.
