Full-time return offer - In need of advice
I interned this past summer with a reputable MM firm in NYC. I received a return-offer with the firm and signed it this week. A few days after signing, I received an invitation for a superday with a BB that I would much rather work for. The superday is next week and I plan on attending.
What I really want to know is, when asked in the interview, do I tell the BB that I've already signed with the firm I interned with this past summer? I realize it is terrible to lie in an interview but I also don't want to be dinged simply because I have already signed an offer. Anyone have any advice for my situation?
I would MUCH rather work for the BB, I wasn't really happy with the MM firm.
Don't lie.
thanks, I guess looking for some advice on how to convey to them that I have already signed an offer but would renege without sounding like a complete scum bag
Just tell the MM firm you can't return after all, then go into recruiting with a clear conscience and no worries. If you didn't like it don't return there, I'm sure you're qualified for other MMs if you did well this summer
