My 2 cents: - A lot of kids from Bristol get into IBD -maybe less than from Warwick and LSE, but still I think that the school gives you a very decent shot at IBD London. - If I was you I would not do a gap year and go from Bristol. It is still a target (or semi target, however you call it) for banks in the UK - On the learning side of things: in my honest opinion I don't think that they would be any difference at all!
