General Mills Finance versus Accenture MC

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if I could get your opinion on job placement. I'm kicking around starting my career at General Mills in Finance or at Accenture for MC. My top concern is which career track will set me up the best for applying to the top B-Schools (HBS, Stanford, Wharton, etc).

On one hand, General Mills has a top training program and initiatives to support employees in pursuing an MBA whereas Accenture MC is fast pace and gives you broad exposure.

Thoughts? Any help would be most appreciated.

A girl that I went to undergrad with worked as an Associate Buyer at GM for 3 years and now she's at Kellogg. I'd imagine the FLDP would look significantly better on your resume for bschool. Just food for thought.

I haven't had a carb since 2004.

Accenture MCDP is definitely the best for your resume. If it's Accentute Tech consulting than it becomes more of a toss up.

Just to clarify:

General Mills: Financial Leadership Development Program Accenture: Management Consulting Development Program

The other thing that pops into my mind when considering the two is that General Mills just got ranked #2 in Business Week's top places that develop leaders.

For B school, definitely Accentute MCDP. Though general mills will have better work/life balance and will provide you with a giod opportunity to make a long successful career there if that is something that interests you.
