Getting back to NYC from Non-NYC Location
I just finished my 3rd round of interviews for a position at a large PE fund not based in NYC. Long term I have NO interest in living in this particular city (hell, short term I have no interest) but the position is such that, if I get the offer, I would be a moron not to take it.
Question is, after working in NYC then leaving for a few years, do people have a hard time getting back to NYC? Someone recently mentioned to me that because there is such a large talent pool in NYC, buy-side firms are reluctant to hire non-NYC candidates. The logic makes sense but I wanted to see what other's experience has been. Thanks in advance.
