Getting references?

For a job I'm applying to, I am being asked for three references. It's pretty fucking stupid IMO considering I already completed three rounds of interviews, but I don't really have a choice. My problem is that I haven't exactly told my current employer that I'm planning on leaving for a new position...

I could ask professors, but honestly, I have no relationships with any of them. I have a career advisor who I don't respect (he's a doofus.) but would probably be willing to be a reference.

Suggestions?
