Correct me if wrong, cannot DM without knowing username. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.

Could you clarify what the “Euro hiring cycle” means?

Also, did they disclose this from Day 1?

Euro Hiring Cycle meaning typical IB USA recruitment happens Fall and Euro (if I’m not mistaken) occurs during Mid/Late December til Early Spring

Intern in IB - Cov:

Understood but I have no idea and have never heard how this would effect your ability to obtain a return offer…

Are you the only group in your BB who operates on this Euro model?

Is it down to your line of business operating in Europe?

I’ve never heard of this before.

There’s only a few options for intern when you sign up - coverage was closest.

As someone alluded to above it’s more of a prop equity investment shop that falls under Investment Bank’s Umbrella. didn’t want to get too far into details.

If you have no shot at a return, you should definitely speak to HR about opportunities across the bank. I'd express something like you really enjoyed the culture and would like to stay at JPM, and would be open to opportunities in IB, S&T or AM (just some ideas). Hopefully you have already networked quite a bit with these groups and have an idea of what desks have openings, given you've known for 10 weeks you won't get a return offer.

I would not give any gifts or notes etc - that crosses into awkward territory. If you want to send a nice email to your manager and anyone who has helped you, that is above the norm.

It sounds like some group-specific issue where they are significantly cutting headcount given they told you from the start, but JPM is big enough that they didn't want to pull your summer offers. IMO the Euro cycle thing is BS/an excuse, no AMRS intern is going to wait until January and then re-apply.
