Globally Remote FP&A Role for $120k?

Curious what the WSO community's thoughts are on this. I'm currently at a startup after a stint in VC and was originally taking interviews for VC shops to go back BUT I'm getting close to an offer for an FP&A manager role at a fully distributed technology company.

Salary sucks at $120k but the role is 100% remote and lets me work from anywhere in the world. Hours are flexible too with a huge emphasis on doing work whenever you want as long as it's done. They don't even care if you have a side hustle. The company is very smooth-sailing so I'm not too concerned for job security

This opens a new door I hadn't considered before of being a digital nomad for a couple years. Major downside is that my career progression kind of halts but the hours & geographic flexibility does lean well into my long-term plan of starting a business of my own. Dancing is also an intense side hobby of mine and it'd be cool to do performances with my crew again

Clearly this is a to-each-his-own scenario but curious if anyone's done fully-remote finance roles before and how they felt about it

I’ve done FP&A remotely. It’s really easy. I could watch Netflix and do all the financial models at the same time.

If no wife and kids, and no plans of getting married soon (or ever) - sounds like a dream come true

1) take the job

2) move to hawaii

3) download tinder, bumble, etc. and get a girl

4) enjoy Hawaii and the girl while making $120k

hehehe you got it all figured out
