Goldman Backround

I have a misdamenor in NY over 8 years ago (in college), that, according to NYC has been dismissed and sealed. I know they willbe finger printing me. Should I disclose this transgression in the application process or will it not even come up on the FBI search? and if does come up on the search, is it a big deal? Please help ASAP.

Thanks

As far as I know, if you have a charge expunged, employers can't see it on a background check. FBI, NSA, CIA, all those goons can see that kinda stuff though. But as far as application background checks, you'll be fine.

But Goldman does a fingerprint check (FBI), so I think they will see it. Im curious it will hinder my chances? Should I be upfront about it or wait to explain if it comes up..

This is just me deducing logically, so don't take it for fact, but Goldman = Public Company =/= Gov't Agency. I highly doubt they can peer into someone's background as in depth as the FBI, or using the FBI's background checks, because, well, they aren't the FBI. They outsource to background checking companies that do the work for them, not the FBI.

What is the exact question they ask... Is it have you ever been convicted of a crime? or is it have you ever been arrested? because for me those are two very different things...

seriously? they can find out about charges that have been expunged?... shitty
