Hey guys,
So I am a recent UCSB grad where I majored in Econ/Accounting. Right after graduation I took a job at a buy side advisory firm where I essentially worked as an outsourced corporate development analyst for PE firms. I was pretty much doing research and asking people if they're looking to sell their business. Prior to this I worked at a private equity search fund. I felt like I was not learning much and I decided to take an IB internship at a boutique bank in Southern California. It's been good so far but I only have about a month of experience so I do not think I am qualified to apply for analyst jobs yet. I am looking to get a full time job in IB, hopefully in the bay area and within tech. I don't want to work full time at my current firm though as they only do capital markets and I want to do M&A. Has anyone been in my position and has some sort of insight on what to do? I have been networking but there's not much alumni in the space.
