GS TMT/GS MBD Growth Group

Hi guys,

Long-time user, but made a new username to remain anonymous. I'm in a bit of a dilemma and would like your advice on how to proceed. I applied for a role within GS TMT as an experienced hire, and received an email from HR saying that they passed my CV to the group's hiring manager, and that they wanted to gauge my interest in a position in their Growth Group within the Merchant Bank Division in SF. I have two questions:

1. Does anyone know much about their Growth Group within MBD, or much about their MBD group in general? The stuff I found through search was broad and a few years old.
2. Will I cannibalize my chances at one group by expressing interest in another? Will I hurt my chances by going for two very different groups?
