GS/MS/JP vs UBS/DB/CS, should I stay or should I go?

Hi Monkies,

I am currently employed at GS/MS/JP in a FO role, but in one that doesn’t build the skills I think I need to transfer to roles I find more interesting (like ER/IB). I might be able to internally transfer in a year or so, but I do not know a lot about this process and I am concerned about time spent on this team, in a job I don’t really want/building skills I don’t really care about long-term, is time wasted. And further, that candidates at lower tier banks with more related experience will get these jobs available to internal transfers at my bank rather than me. However I do recognize the benefits at being at a Tier 1 BB, and do not want to waste the opportunity to move internally at some point, if that isn’t possible.

That being said I have an offer at UBS/DB/CS to join an ER/IB role. Should I make the move? I am pretty junior at GS/MS/JP (2yrs FT)

Thanks!!!!
