Handwritten Thank You Note After Job Interview

This might sound like a basic/junior question but I cannot find a consensus on the countless threads here...

Is sending a thank you handwritten note after a job interview to the interviewer the norm for some of you. My gut tells me it's overkill but I just don't know. I historically have done thank you notes only after a face-to-face network meeting. I do thank you emails after network meetings via phone, etc. and do thank you emails after job interviews typically within 1-2 hrs of the interview.

What do you guys think about a handwritten note after a job interview (in addition to email of course). My target industry is RE but asking for any industry in general.
