"Happy to pass on any inquiries to someone in that area"
Just shot an email to an alum at a firm in a different country in order to try and get him on the phone and/or ask him a few questions about his experience and their market.
He responds that he:
works in the ___ area of the firm and his background is mainly in ___ and __. However he would be happy to pass along any enquiries to someone who works on their XYZ team [where XYZ is my current specialization where I work now].
This is fine, and really what I'd like to do is simply ask for a job on their XYZ team, but I'm pretty early on my job hunting timeline and just wanted to get familiar with these people a year or so before just asking for an interview.
This shouldn't be hard, but I'm just not quite sure what to say back to that.
