Have offer from BB risk

Hi all,

First off thank you WSO with providing me with a background of the finance industry. The info has been extremely helpful in my job search.

I have an offer for a credit risk position at a BB (think JPM, Morgan Stanley, UBS). I have interned in IB and hated it because we were selling crappy assets and doing constant pitchwork. I don’t think I would have a future in PE or IB due to the sales and relationship based nature of the job. I am just not that positive with regards to making relationships and selling upside.

Is a career in risk fulfilling? Am I going to be looked down upon by FO bankers? Would like some real feedback.

Thanks guys

Do you want to do risk? Or do you want to do something else and use risk as a stepping stone? I interned in risk and will tell you it is not very exciting or stimulating especially if you don't love your team
