Headcount approval French bank

Hi guys, wondering if anyone ever gone through what I'm going through. I had multiple interviews (including HR interview in the last round) and finally got a verbal offer, however the hiring manager mentioned that he is still waiting for the approval from HQ. It's been almost 3 months since my last interview / verbal offer, and total of 4 months since my first interview. Anyone had gone through a lengthy hiring process, how long did it take?

Thank you in advance!

Sounds a little long. Why don't you call and find out what's going on? When did you speak with them the last time?

Must feel like torture. Ask the guy who gave you the offer when he can expect approval. HR can't really help here as the MD (or group head) is the only one who can push & expedite. French banks do have their reputation for bureaucracy, but I'm sure u knew this already...

Thanks guys for the quick responses! i'm still in touch with the hiring manager once every 2-3 weeks, he mentioned he needs the approval before he could get me onboard. Anyways i came across some post in wso on their longest interview process, gave me a slight relief. but no offer means the search continues.
