Help! Intern vs 1st year Audit - Big 4

I'm contemplating between taking an internship in the National Office at the Big 4 or just beginning my auditing career (full time, also with the Big 4).

The internship would cause me to delay the start of my audit career by one year since I finish my coursework next summer.

I am in my later 20's and this is a career change for me so I am trying to decide if a year as an intern in the National Office will add more (or I should say "enough") value to my career rather than just hitting the ground running in audit.

Any opinions, feedback, suggestions on how the network and technical accounting at my level would impact my career?
