HELP! Lost the job a week after graduation, need to look for a new one

Hello everyone,

I need your advice on this. I had a FT offer from my summer internship, however because of some laws issued by the government (European country), i wasn't able to obtain the visa and basically* lost the job*. Bank informed me about the rejection of the visa only a week after my graduation. Prior to that, there was no concern risen about the possibility of not getting the visa. So here I am ended up jobless right after college.

I am currently seeking an employment, but i'm clearly late for the recruiting season for this year. How should I approach this? I have applied to over 70 jobs already, however feel like submitting my application online is not enough. Should I start cold-calling and emailing? If it is a big bank like JP Morgan and I get in touch with an associate, I can't really ask him for a job, right? Should I just simply ask him to talk about the industry and how he was able to get where he is? I just don't really get the structure of cold calling unless it is a small boutique and I am emailing HR or something. Any suggestions on that?

Also, for those who are international. I clearly wasn't planning on getting OPT since I was planning on leading the country, however, now in the process of the paperwork. Does anything have any tips on what companies to target? I believe waiting for the recruitment for 2019 might not work for me because the H1B needs to be issued by April 1st.

I would appreciate any type of advice. I am not targeting specifically IB or whatever, I would take absolutely anything at this point since the situation was really unplanned.
