Help on Summer Analyst Search

I am a junior and have applied to all the BB's and Boutique Banks and am waiting for responses. As in, I haven't interviewed yet. Am I too late should I forget about it. What is everyone else's experience. I am a non-target school and completed all applications online.

Online apps are black holes if you don't have a contact within the company. Barclays for example doesn't recruit at my school, and after sending in my online app a long time ago, a week ago I finally did what I should've done, which was contact an alum who worked there. The alumnus gave me the contact info for the HR woman who runs the program. I emailed her, asked some housekeeping questions (details about mentorship, networking opportunities, etc. that the internship program provides), just to get myself on her radar. And then a few days later, I got notified for a first round phone interview.

So go through your school's alumni network at Career Services --it's never too late.

I think BB's are finishing up, but the smaller firms are still recruiting, or are just starting the process. Definitely not too late, but as the guy mentioned above, applying online without some sort of contact is a waste of time.
