Help with which internship to apply

I have been looking online at which internship I should apply to, I am a master student but when I look at the 10 week programmes banks offer I feel like I may be 'over qualified' to apply, for instance they ask a lot about pre university studies.

So my question is should I keep applying to the big companies 10 week internship programmes or do you suggest I narrow it down to smaller firms.

Am I going to be penalised for applying in my Master year? should I apply to the associate internships? I have not had any previous internship experience before

Having not had prior work experience, it would be recommended that you seek out some experience. So you should apply to the programmes you mention so as not to be limiting your options. The fact you are a Master's student shouldn't typically penalise you. Think about how you can turn it into a positive. If you can, contact the companies and they could advise you on the Associate programmes, as these can sometimes be targeted towards people completing MBAs or with more work experience.
