Hey WSO, first post here.. Have a question about a potential position post grad.. MM IB firm focus in M&A, deal sourcing analyst role..

I really just wanted to hear thoughts on this type of role coming out of college and wanting to break into M&A IB. Ive had a focus on eventually wanting to move into buy-side whether that be PE or VC, or even moving up at an IB firm to higher positions. Would this be a role that would look good and gain enough good experience even if a good amount of the work is probably more relationship based (reaching out to potential sellers) etc.. Im at a smaller non-target state school so clearly its much harder to land positions in this area. So will it provide me enough experience in the field to get a respectable chance at opportunities in the future is what I’m really asking.
