Is it alright to have "High School Varsity Football Captain" on your resume?

What year are you? If you're a freshman, it's OK. But beyond that, you generally shouldn't have anything from HS on your resume unless it's really important or you have nothing else to put on your resume. Just my two cents.
Are you applying for jobs in Texas?
Depends. Was it a well known football school? Did you have any noticeable accomplishments as football captain?
Your resume tells a story about you. So if this fits your story and you have nothing better to put on your resume then it should be ok, as long as it fits. However, if it happened more than 5 years ago, I would leave it off altogether.
I had it on my resume through college and FT recruiting. Once I graduated it came off.
I have it in as a bullet in a small section at the bottom called "Leadership Activities" along with volunteering roles and student org stuff. I would say ~40% of interviewers brought it up as a positive after reading my res. There are lots of athletes on Wall Street so there's definitely upside for some, hard to imagine why anyone would count it against you.
