How are some able to succeed in finance without ever working at FT Partners?
I have noticed that there are some finance professionals (think Rich Handler, Jamie Diamond, my top bucket senior analyst, etc.) who have attained success in finance despite never working at FT Partners. How do you think they managed to achieve this despite missing out on the extraordinary prestige, astronomical compensation, and elite work environment that can only be experienced at FT Partners?
All of the people you mentioned above are exceptions to the rule — hell, probably anomalies.
Like many people on this site, I am personally risk-averse and would prefer to the take the tried-and-true path of working at FTP before I look elsewhere, even it means pretending to be interested in FinTech.
