I may need to drop a few classes this semester. This would place me on academic probation and leave a permanent mark on my transcript. Would this be an issue in apply for SAs (current sophomore)

^only cumulative GPA and graduating on time (mix in some relevant coursework for resume) is all you need kiddo. Don't sweat it
Will having the mark of academic probation be an issue though?
It won’t. Like mentioned above, they only check the school you are enrolled through background checks. GPA is rarely checked or they ask for transcripts. Also don’t forget, since you got Academic Probation, you have one more semester to prove yourself to your school or else they academically dismiss you. Better start opening the books.
