How do I approach FT recruiting when I have an internship in the same period?
Hi, I landed an internship at an EB from next August to February, which means that would be right during the FT recruiting season. I am from a target university and this would be my 3rd relevant internship to IB, though my grades are mediocre at best, so I'm not feeling confident for FT recruiting anyway. However, I do want to give it a shot. The problem then is that I will be doing an internship during the period where positions for FT open up, so how could I possibly recruit for it?
This problem is made worse by the fact that I'm in a regional office, and there are not many banks even located here. I could not possibly go for an in-person interview for an hour or so to the city where most companies are located, because that'd imply flying. Or should I just give up on FT recruitin? I also don't want to do that because this EB only has a small office, with a few analysts, and generally few opportunities. Maybe look for opportunities outside IB when it is quite likely I wouldn't be able to properly recruit anyway? I assume it is impossible to get an offer for the FT role at an EB in a major office based on an off-cycle internship in a regional office.
