How do you label INACCURATE job titles on your resume?
My question is, is changing your "job title" on your resume to reflect your current responsibilities lying? I have heard you can, to some degree, change titles on resume.
Example: what if your job is equivalent to a "Client Investment Analyst " but your official job title is "Client Support Specialist"

You could go for it but during the interview process you would be screwed as the recruiter would figure it out. This mistake could hurt your future candidacy for that company . It's like someone saying that he/she graduated with a Finance degree when he/she actually received a Marketing degree.
what no, they would never catch you its not like youre claiming to be an associate when youre an analyst you are basically changing a word
Yes, basically changing the words around/ adding a new word to the title to fit the position I am going for.
Would this be a deal breaker if discovered during background check?

I changed mine completely and never heard anything. They have no way of knowing if the company has changed position title or anything

I accepted an associate role earlier this year in my current bank but due to restrictions on mid-year promotions, I'm in an associate role with an analyst title until year end. Do you guys think I should be representing my current role as an analyst or associate on my resume for a job I'm applying to now? I think I can justify it being an associate role but obviously the last thing I'd want to happen is a background check to raise questions on my title.
