A buddy of mine personally knows the hiring person at the company I want to get a job with.
I asked him to send her an email that he had a friend he thought would be perfect for the position etc. She responded and told him to have me contact her and send all my stuff.
I did that; resume, cover letter, recommendations etc about a week ago. She has not responded at all. Not even to say "Hey, I received XXX.". Ive thought about trying to contact her but I am not sure if I should wait on it or what?
Any ideas?
Definitely should, especially since SHE SAID TO CONTACT HER. You should have done this right after you sent it, but no big deal since you didn't. Just call her up and say you wanted to make sure she got everything ok and maybe ask a few questions.
Well communication always helps. Just don't overdue it. As a undergrad I was always more comfortable emailing. I would just give her a call and say that you wanted to follow up and make sure that she has your information. Thank her for her help. Don't be afraid to reach out in a friendly way.
