How might the fiscal cliff affect those of us currently going for internships?

So I'm just wondering... Currently looking for IBD SA position... what if we end up going over the fiscal cliff? Will the BBs give out way fewer positions, maybe even suspend their recruiting? Will it be like 2008? What if we are able to secure a SA position before the cliff-- do you think we'd have a chance to retain it for FT? If the worst happens, will we be mega f*d?
