This should be an easy question. Why do you want to work there?
I mean it's not as simple as that. It's why do you want to work there as opposed to any of their competitors - e.g. what specifically makes Nomura stand out, which is a much more difficult question to answer.
It's still a general bs question. You can easily talk about company culture, longstanding history (almost 100 years), firm philosophy etc.
Well, yeah, it should be. But not when the bank is Nomura and sucks.
Because it's memed to death on WSO.

The easy way to answer this question is to shift the focus from the bank itself to the people you have networked with.
I bet you could easily pivot to say, "Every bank says how great they are, but a bank's culture is really just a collection of its people. Since starting networking with Nomura, I've been really impressed with people like Name in [Group] who explained how they train up new Analysts, and Name in [Group] who described how the team prepared for a cross-border M&A pitch. These were real examples of teamwork which really made an impact in my mind, and I could see myself fitting in well with the teams here in this platform."
Guarantee this is more thoughtful than regurgitating the company vision statement, unless you're talking to HR and then I would shoe-horn what I outlined above into referencing the vision/mission/purpose/values. E.g. "I read that Nomura's founder said to "Place clients at the heart of everything we do" and during my time networking with Nomura bankers I've already heard several examples that have turned that idea into action. For example, I learned from Name about ..."
