How to improve myself and move to another job

Hi all,

I work in a (very) small HF for a year and I am considering to leave this position because I don't feel that I develop my skills more than programming something more and more complex and that's it. There is not much time to study and develop new trading ideas since someone needs the luxury of time in order to do that, then backtest it and then perhaps deploy it. In other words I feel that I use only a fraction of my abilities. Money is important but more important to me is personal development, something that my current position lacks to provide me with.

Background: software engineering, physics, MSc at CERN.

Many letters to HHs and job boards remained without reply for the past few weeks. I was thinking of an expert to check my CV for its integrity and cohesion. I am positive that my qualifications and experience should at least get me a Junior Quant job.
